The theory of Scandinavian racial purity cherished by Hitler and the

Even the Nazis were not quite so dumb as to deny that actual |
"Germanic" nations were mixtures of different "racial" types (the
Nazis mostly obsessed about various "races" within what most Americans
would think of as the "white race"). They distinguished among all
sorts of "racial mixtures," graded into higher types suitable for the
SS, medium types suitable for lesser roles in the "master race," and
still lesser types suitable for slave labor or death. So I'm not sure
these results would shock them quite as much as you suppose.
In any case, the Nazis -- who, recall, dismissed relativity as "Jewish
physics" that could not be allowed to contaminate pure "German
physics" -- were surely as capable as any other creationists in
ignoring or hand-waving away any evidence that contradicted their
preferred views.

First, of course, evolution is not a religion. Neither is natural |
selection. Evolutionary theory is based, like any scientific theory,
on evidence and scientific testing; it has no revealed scripture
(unless you count nature itself), no inerrant prophets (overturning
some idea of Darwin's is a path to fame and prestige in evolutionary
science), and no creed to be accepted on faith (unless you count
"evidence matters"). It has, no matter what envious untruths you
spread, no priesthood or rituals.
Second, the top Nazis mostly rejected evolution (Himmler was affronted
that anyone would think he was related to gorillas, and Hitler
accepted evolution only within created kinds). Although they waxed
enthusiastic about natural selection, they didn't understand it very
well. One can examine the textbooks they prepared for high school
students: they explained in highly colored prose how natural selection
worked for the purity of species and races, but made no mention at all
of how it transformed species or shaped new adaptions.
Third, while Stalin accepted evolution, he was more skeptical (to the
extent that he cared one way or the other) about natural selection;
under his rule, the Soviets persecuted mainstream evolutionary
theorists and promoted the neo-Lamarckian theories of Lysenko. Mao,
so far as I know, had no quarrel with evolutionary theory, but
promoted his policies on the grounds of equality, justice, and
restoring Chinese greatness, not on the grounds that evolutionary
theory supported them. And Dawkins, Gould, and Hawking put together
have amassed rather fewer murders in the name of their theories than,
say, any of the founders of the Protestant Reformation.
Fourth, despite Nazi enthusiasm for natural selection, it cannot be
used as the basis for a society. Natural selection, itself, has no
goals that a society can assist or strive to reach faster. Different
selective regimes have different effects on who survives to reproduce,
and there is no trait that is universally "fitter" than others, and
natural selection gives us no reason to prefer one selective regime to
another. Natural selection *is* neutral: it doesn't tell you what you
"ought" to be selecting for, and there's no reason to suppose that
what you prefer now is what's going to help your descendants in the
future (a complaint against eugenics made by Theodosius Dobzhansky,
who, unlike any of the Nazis, actually was an eminent evolutionary
theorist in the early 20th century).
Fifth, while evolutionary theory doesn't tell us how to structure a
society, it does contradict the basic assumptions of racism -- that
there is some racial essence that is shared by all members of one race
and no members of another. Evolutionary theory assumes that variation
exists in all groups (this variation is what natural selection acts
on), and that there is unlikely to be any trait, on which one could
base a claim of racial superiority or inferiority, that is exclusive
to and universal among any ethnic group. So both in their rejection
of common descent and their embrace of anti-Darwinian racism the Nazis
were as hostile to evolutionary theory as you were (the top Nazis, I
mean: doubtless, many evolutionists joined the NSDAP, swallowing any
scientific or moral objections they had on the grounds that Party
membership was good for their career prospects and even their health).
Sixth, from time to time, when creationists attempt to deal with the
details of the fossil record (obviously, I cannot be talking about you
here, since you don't do details), one finds complaints such as "well,
_Pakicetus_ is found in India, but _Basilosaurus_ is found in
Louisiana! How is that possible, if the latter sort of whale evolved
from the former?" or "evolutionists never tell you that some members
of the horse series are found in America, while others are found in
Europe!" Evolutionists have noticed (it does not strike them as one
of the most counterintuitive aspects of modern biology, even if it
seems to come as a surprise to creationists) that populations can move
around, and can colonize new territories. Now, it seems to me that an
evolutionist would be less surprised to find African or Asian genes in
a Scandinavian population than would a creationist who found it
astonishing that whales could swim from one continent to another.
