Posted: Tue Jul 01, 2008 9:16 pm Post subject: Summary of “apobetics” and his Problems with Sci |
|
|
In this posting “apobetics” presents the following statement “Sprirled
(sic) DNA is necessary for life but does not form spontaneously, or
naturally.” which presumably comes from some source material or other
that he chooses not to provide a citation for, then in the next
sentence he speaks of DNA forming in a glass beaker.
Consider the fact that the word naturally means “in accordance with,
or by the operation of, natural laws or causes” and spontaneously
means “by natural chemical or physical change or development” in the
context in which these words are set in his posting.
Similar claims are made in his other postings (under similar headings)
about amino acids, proteins and cell membranes.
So if these essential components of life cannot form spontaneously, or
naturally, what other mechanism or process is supposed to be
responsible for their formation?
Does “apobetics” have such a mechanism or process in mind, or does the
author of his source material know of such a mechanism or process?
And can that mechanism or process be observed, tested and verified? |

DNA does not form spontaneously or naturally under pre-biotically
plausible conditions. That is a well known fact - e.g. see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Major_Transitions_in_Evolution
....page.72.

They were, in fact, made by other life forms. Nucleic acids are only
essential to *modern* life (LAWKI).

The wiki source doesn't stretch to the contents of "page 72" can you
provide that information?

RNA is also comprised of nucleic acids, and as far as scientists are
aware *all* life on this planet has used them in one form or another,
even viruses (which according to some are not alive) contain nucleic
acids in the form of RNA or DNA.

I think the chances of his mind allowing any facts to enter is very
small. |
