Controversy 3

Natural Selection & Chance Mutations

Point:
A series of chance mutations in DNA is one of the major mechanisms by
which we BELIEVE evolution occurs.

Counterpoint:
The statistical odds of chance mutations causing an animal to develop
new body part are astronomically high. The odds of an land animal
becoming a whale are impossible.

Neither of these two claims can be considered as possible or even
probable and are of the nature of fairy tales where the kissed frog
becomes a prince.

Interesting choice of words. "astronomical". That's really quite
small if you are a bible literalist. The sun orbits the earth, the
stars are mere dots....

Just out of curiousity, where do you get this stuff from, citations
would be a great help in justifying any statements such as these.

Do you have any or do you just make it up as you go along?

BTW could you please point to the "new body part" that a whale has
that its land antecedent didn't?

Apobetics isn't that bright enough to make it all up himself. He's a fan
of that old technique called copypasta. Any "argument" he makes has
already been debunked a million times before you and I ever showed up
here, and that's just by 1890.

He's probably babbling about the ball vertebra just anterior of where
the fluke is on modern cetaceans.

In his screed against whale evolution a while back where he faked quotes
of Dr. Philip Gingerich saying that Rodhocetus had a tail, Apobetics was
babbling on about Rodhocetus having no ball vertebra.

That's been the sum total of the "reasoning" behind ALL
his "controversies", so far...

Oops! my bad, that should be "...saying that Rodhocetus had a fluke".
Apologies.
