Whatever his faults, he's a genuine American hero and a legendary

conservatives are still groaning and whininig about McCain's
shortcomings when they--and their country--are facing the most radical
and dangerous threat to our ideas of liberty and freedom is even more
pathetic.

Right.
Well maybe. These are demonstrably confusing times. Read Machiavelli to

avoid looking like a fool when you argue politics. Its not shortcomings
I am worried about. There are necessary things that Obama can do that
McCain cannot. Its not his fault, or a fault in his character, but the
fault with the entire system.

It took a Nixon to go to China, and it'll take an Obama to end
affirmative action. I dunno that he will, but only he can.

And when the next president goes to the Islamic world to work out how we
shall go on from here, if he says:"I'm sorry for what that bad man Bush
did to you, but we are where we are, and maybe we can work something out
before we have another war." Now, if those words come out of a brown
face, they'll know they are not talking to just another Yankee. I know,
Obama's an oreo, but they dont know that.

And lets not forget whatever any president can do will depend on the
kind of congress he has to do it with. Can McCain get full majorities in
both houses? Well, if Obama does, and fucks up like you think, he'll
take down the whole Democratic party with him. With the presidency of
one party and the congress of another, its all too easy for bastards to
claim the problem was caused by the other side.

If this nation is in as fundamentally as good shape as the Bush people
say it is, it can afford 4 years of Democratic rule to make them put up
or shut up. The GOP cant have it both ways.
