The Earth circles the Sun and we came from some kind of primordial soup by
accident.

There is good reason to be skeptical of global warming.

Like global warming, the theory is subject to much heated debate.

Like the theory that babies come from inside their mommies' bodies.
The kids in the nursery school around the corner just cannot agree on
this. If only the scientific evidence were conclusive! But I guess we
will never know.

"By accident" implies that there was an intended alternative. There wasn't.

It was no accident. That's just the way thing happen when you make soup.

This is a joke, right? With some idiots in this group believing the
above, it's difficult to tell.

No a diety who was never born but, instead, *always* existed fathered a
'Son' who always existed as well but was 'fathered' nevertheless -- meaning
in
simple terms that he was 'sired' but there was never a moment when he
*didn't* exist, who, by the way, is the very same creature *as* the father
*and* another entity who is of the same compositon and 'nature' who is one
with the Father -- *that's* who 'created' man, the rest of earth's life
forms and the universe itself. Right?

And the proof of that is . . . *where* again?

As well as good reasons to be skeptical of people who speak of their
interaction with imagined deity as though he were cousin 'Louie' or neighbor
'Bob' down the street with not the *slightest* bit of proof to substantiate
such wildly outrageous (and preposterous) claims. Can tell you his likes and
dislikes but can't, for the life of them, prove He exists. Seems something
here is not quite right to *this* atheist.

"American Thinker"'s bible doesn't say so, therefore it can't.

There is good reason to be skeptical of global warming.

So, you're saying that the Earth does NOT circle the Sun? That's a quaint
attitude to take in this day and age. And by the way, it's not an accident,
its called physics. See, there is this force called gravity? It comes from
the dent that matter makes in the fabric of the space/time continuum and is
easily modeled mathematically.

As for life springing spontaneously from a primordial soup, Many scientists
believe that, given the correct circumstances and enough time, life will form
spontaneously. Another theory is that life came here from somewhere else on a
meteor or comet and finding a nurturing environment, proliferated and
flourished. There is actually some evidence for the latter. There are
billions of star systems in the galaxy, most have planets. Life will, as a
consequence of numbers more than anything else, appear on many of those
planets capable of supporting it. In some cases, life will eventually become
intelligent and sentient, and on other worlds it may not. Were it not for the
dinosaur's extinction, we probably wouldn't be here now, but the evidence of
adaptive evolution tells us that it is altogether possible that some
dinosaurs would have evolved to occupy our place at the top of earth's
intelligence chain. IOW, its a numbers game. Sort of a galaxial "put an
infinite number of monkeys in front of an infinite number of typewriters, and
eventually all of the worlds great literature will be written."

As for global warming, it's fact that the earth is in a warming trend. What
is controversial is whether or not man has either contributed to it or caused
it. Climate models are, unlike the models for gravity, NOT easy. They are
unbelievably complex. So much so that it takes supercomputers a long time to
solve for any set of variables plugged into those models. To further compound
the problem, not all of the variables (by a long shot) are known (and some
known ones aren't even understood well enough to use them), so the models are
incomplete. Based upon incomplete modeling, it looks as if human burning of
hydrocarbons is the major contributing factor in this warming trend. What is
troubling about this conclusion is not just the fact that the data is
incomplete and based upon faulty models, but rather that the earth has gone
through many of these types of climate changes over it's 4 billion year
history, and man wasn't even here yet, much less creating a damaging carbon
footprint.

Much less how a ship only 600 ft long could hold enough food for each species
for that long of a voyage or how a single extended family could care for
them.
