As President Bush's health chief, Tommy Thompson was criticized for not
doing enough to help workers exposed to toxic debris from the Sept. 11

Now, a company he leads has won a $11 million contract to treat some of
those workers who responded to New York's ground zero.

FBI: Some watch-list hits not reported
Wednesday, 04 June 2008 13:00

WASHINGTON — State and local police officers fail to notify federal
authorities about encounters with possible terrorism suspects up to 10
times a day, a senior FBI official said.

The rate of failure represents missed opportunities to verify possible
matches to suspects on the government's terrorist watch list or to
remove individuals from the list whose names had been added by mistake,
Leonard Boyle, director of the bureau's Terrorist Screening Center
(TSC), said in an interview.

Police are asked to contact the center when routine computerized
background checks on individuals — who may have violated traffic rules
or been involved in a domestic disturbance — trigger electronic alerts
from the TSC.

Musharraf seen reconciled to exit
Wednesday, 04 June 2008 12:39

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf, threatened
by possible impeachment, is reconciled to stepping down before he is
hounded out of office, according to a senior adviser to the new government.

U.S. ally Musharraf, who came to power as a general after a coup in
1999, has probably got a matter of weeks, at most a few months, before
the curtain falls, political insiders say.

TVNL Comment: The Pakistani puppet faces possible impeachment and will
step down. The puppet masters - Bush and Cheney - still remain safe from
impeachment or indictment. Amazing.

Antibacterial Wipes Often Misused, Spread Disease
Wednesday, 04 June 2008 10:07

Those antimicrobial wipes that seem to be everywhere these days were
first used in hospitals in Wales in 2005. Now a study conducted by
researchers at Cardiff University’s Welsh School of Pharmacy has come
full circle to take a second look at those wipes and found that they are
often used in ways that promote the spread of bacteria and other
pathogens instead of killing them, as their packaging claims they do.

Portuguese Newspaper Admits Bilderberg Kingmaker Power
Wednesday, 04 June 2008 10:06

A Portuguese newspaper has reported on something the American corporate
media remains cowardly complicit about and dare not even mention - this

Israel, US Urging Europe to Take Iranian Threat Seriously
Wednesday, 04 June 2008 09:55

Jerusalem (CNSNews.com) - Economic and political sanctions against Iran
must be "dramatically increased" if the international community hopes to
stop the Iranian regime from obtaining nuclear weapons, Israeli Prime
Minister Ehud Olmert said Tuesday.

The issue of Iran is expected to top the agenda of talks between Olmert
and President Bush when they meet on Wednesday.

Both Olmert and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice used their speeches
to the annual conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee
(AIPAC) -- the largest pro-Israel lobby in the U.S. -- to urge the
international community to do more to stop Iran from becoming a nuclear
power.

TVNL Comment: Normally, lobbying groups try to influence politicians.
Where AIPAC is concerned, every politico must grovel for its approval.
Anyone seeking or holding a top public office in the US is required to
pledge unconditional support to everything Israel does... including
amass nuclear weapons to the exclusion of any other nation in the Middle
East. When will anyone question Israel's role in causing so much of the
unrest and frustration in the region? Probably, never.
