Hey Everyone...

I will be the quick to admit that this is my first post here, but I
have been viewing carefully and quietly to gather some insight as to
how this works. There are some great messages from some amazing
people.... I have been embarrassed by some comments made by
Christians.... I have been forced to do some research by some
atheists.... in the end though, my faith remains firm.

At one point in my life, I was an atheist.... the Bible made no sense
to me and it all seemed like a big fairy tail. I was content with the
idea that everything I saw on a daily basis was nothing more than a
cosmic fart. Life is what you make of it and nothing more.

God had bigger plans for me. I won't go into the specifics of how I
came to know Christ personally, as that is not my point here. Being
on both sides of the spectrum, I can tell you that atheists and
Christians will never see eye to eye. Some of my best friends (who I
LOVE dearly) are atheists.... and we have wonderful conversations,
but at times, it is like we are speaking an entirely different
language. Christians are talking about something that is square.....
the atheists only see a circle. As you come to Christ, everything
seems to fall into place.... the passages in the Bible have amazing
splendor and purpose behind them. I don't know how else to describe
it (as words cannot), but something changes deep inside your soul. It
is quite liberating.... and I thought I was living a fulfilling life
BEFORE knowing Christ.

This being the case, the remainder of this message is for those
Christians (especially those who choose not to represent Christ in
their posts) that are spending a great deal of time online arguing
with atheists.... is that your number one job??? No. Are you
spending your time wisely???

As you are reading this, there are homeless growing more weary...
there are neglected children longing for a loving mentor..... there
are wealthy, powerful, accomplished neighbors that are ready to kill
themselves for lack of purpose. They will all benefit from a
compassionate person, but it is the story of Christ that will allow
for the powerful transformation in their lives. I have seen it too
many times in my own life. Share your love for Christ... don't spend
the entire time arguing it on the internet.

Get your hands dirty with your faith.... how many strangers have you
prayed for today, who have you forgiven today, who have you shown
unmerited, unconditional love?? Who is in the driver's seat of your
life?? It seems fruitless to spend too much time in a boyish pissing
match on a Usenet group!

Ok.... I have probably already spoken too much... and I know I am
making an assumption here, so I apologize. For all I know, after you
post on the internet you are out witnessing and helping the needy....
as a whole though, I pray that we don't forget the Great
Commission.... and remember, this is coming from someone that once
KNEW there was no such thing as God! Today, I love Christ more than
words can explain.

Good night everyone.... have a wonderful week!

pc,

You appear to demonstrate an understanding that wasn't possible before you
converted away from atheism. That is something to rejoice and I rejoice
with you. I particularly appreciate your willingness to speak up and share
it.

Now, as a brother, I want to admonish you. The problem is that after our
eyes become open and we see things we never saw before. The things we see
seem so clear and bright that it draws our focus almost to the exclusion of
all else. We wonder why everyone else doesn't see it. We become exalted
in the great understanding we gain of a narrow focus. And so we must learn
to rightly divide, seek to understand, become quick to hear and slow to
speak.

As you chastise your fellow Christians in the message below, and tell them
how they should be conducting themselves, you become guilty of the very same
thing that you chastise them for. But we've all been guilty of that. What
I want to bring your attention to is the evil with which we find ourselves
fighting against.

It is ironic that the word "science" comes from the world of philosophy
where they worship exalted words and personal opinion. And yet, 2700 years
later, virtually all of today's scientific disciplines were founded by
Christians who understood and felt driven by the need to seek understanding.
It was the Christian who felt compelled to submit their opinions to
objective tests in an effort to discover their flaws. And by our
willingness to discover our flaws, we discover real truth.

So truth matters.

The old definition of "science", born of philosophy, opinions, and man's
exalted wisdom is carried by a very evil world of secret fraternities and
tyrannical fingers that reach into every corner of the world. Today's
science while, still heavily influenced and controlled by the despots, has
been forced to concede to those truths that become evident to everyone
honest enough to look. Through the efforts of Christians, some parts of
science have adopted practices of self-discipline, a willingness to discover
one's faults, and a desire to discover and understand the truth.

It's safe to assume you didn't come to this forum to become a great teacher
and rebuker of Christians. The goal of many who come here is to live a
more obedient life, perhaps by increasing our understanding. Many who stay,
see an opportunity to oppose the evil being imposed on society by the
atheists' religion.

As you admitted, you once believed the atheists deceptions. The atheists'
philosophies succeed by appealing to man's exalted wisdom. Yet, their
appeals are based on lies that can be exposed through Christian practices
that we now call "the scientific method".

Now you know how the spirit works. It's not by great words of man that you
were finally converted. Nevertheless, while the objective part of our mind
opens up, the partisan part bombards us with all the atheist dogmas we've
been taught since school began. I believe you converted as the spirit
helped you see truths that had been invisible before.

Yet, it was the practical arguments that quieted the partisan part of the
mind and supported the part of you that wanted to lift up your head and look
for yourself. That's the kind of thing that goes on in this forum.

Thanks for the post. Chastising was not the intent.... because I have
been on both sides of the spectrum, I understand what it means to be
"blind". I am very respectful to my atheist and secular friends.....
it makes life amazing to see all of the different ways that people
find purpose between the time birth and death.

I purposefully added this comment to prevent people from thinking that
I was patronizing: "Ok.... I have probably already spoken too much...
and I know I am making an assumption here, so I apologize. For all I
know, after you post on the internet you are out witnessing and
helping the needy....as a whole though, I pray that we don't forget
the Great Commission"

But, at times, it is quite obvious that fruits of the Spirit are not
being displayed in these posts. I feel that is not judging or
patronizing, but stating the truth.... we are called to hold each
other accountable.

I am sorry if I did so in a perceived negative fashion.... it most
definitely was not the intent.

G' Night.

G' Night.

Its a good night to you, if you can sleep well, knowing that you have
been living in the dark side of the humanity by staying in the camp of
evilness resulted from bible.
The truth has never been more clear to the sensible 21st century
people. We have acknowledge this world belong to human and there is no
place for a non-existent god.

All the stories in the bible were false and created during ancient
times.
It has no truth in them: e.g. Jesus was cruxified - How can the god as
the father not acted?
With almighty power as assigned to the god, the god did not use his
power to cleanse or prevented Jesus from sins? Leading to
cruxification?
The Moses also had great power? Yet, he could not help to prevent his
people from escaping?
And yet he could use his power to open up the channel as a passage?
Thes simple but crucial examples certainly could not pass the test in
the modern human mind.

The bible also projected heaven for the believer.
Yet, it try to punish non-believer in hell.
But this is contradicting to its value of "Love thy neighbor".
So, what could be a value become fearful curse?

More than what seemed to be reasonable teaching in certain aspect, the
bible has advocated bloodshed with "an eye for an eye" being taken
literally by the evil believers who seek revenge for any petty
dispute.

Worse, in othordox following, Crusaders went through vast area
slaughtering non-believers, in the name of god. Religious ethnic
cleansing in modern terminology.

Now, with the abve listed examples and much more misdeeds commited by
the Christians or in the name of your god, you can sleep tight,
knowing that the dark has fallen onto you. For, you are blind to the
evilness of religion.

PC,
Wake up.
If there is such a thing as a god, he would have prevented you
Christians from doing a lot dreadful misdeed in the past.
Just think for a second, your Jesus was cruxified because of
something.
Yet your God had, in the first place, never use his power to prevent
him from gone down the path leading to his cruxification, WHY?
Crucially, your god never exercise his power to save Jesus from death,
WHY?
Your god also never prevented the Crusaders from killing thousands of
non-believers, WHY?
And last but never least, where is the god, angels or whatever?
You never seem to understand that the bible is just a fairy tale con
book....! PITY

WDS,
You are blind to any truth.
Stay and tune to your lies in the bible.
Ancient con artists are not at fault.
Modern people falling for it and do not realize is sadly wrong.
The texts in the bible is there for you to analyze and scrutinize.
And you fear you will go to hell?
Or you are enticed to heaven?
No balls? Or coward?
There are billions of non-god believers, and you could not befriend
them in hell in the after-life?
Wake up, man......

hhyapster, you tell us to wake up, yet you apply human thinking to the great
creator, and wonder why Christ wasn't saved. If your kind of thinking had
any logic to it, then why even pose the question? Why create a material
world in the first place?

Your instruction to 'Wake up' is a good one. Think about it.

WDS,
You are blind to any truth.

Wake up, man......

You call me blind, yet you believe the teaching of your clergy who want us
to believe cosmological constants can be changed to fit their dogma? Read
your last statement again.... and think about it.
