When I reread the original article Budikka posted I realised something
else. Behe's basic claim is that chloroquine resistance that arose in
malaria parasites in the last 50 or so years could only have resulted
from intelligent design and not mutation and natural selection. This
has two implications: that his designer is still at work meddling with
species; and that his designer chose to help malaria parasites to
resist the efforts of humans to fight them, in other words, he sided
with the parasites over us! Let's see how many creationists pick this
up and run with it without realising it implies their God is a total
and utter bastard.

If they haven't realized that by now, then they plainly have not read
the Old Testament!

Come to think of it, there are a lot of fundies who were quite happy
thinking that stuff like the AIDS epidemic and the Boxing Day Tsunami
were God "punishing the wicked" and laying down a little Old Skool
smitin'. They aren't going to be fazed because some malaria parasites
got a boost.

Quite.
From their warped viewpoint, that is.

Blake Stacy delivers the final death-blow to Behe's just-published
book, and gives a fine lesson in the *fact* of evolution to boot:
http://www.sunclipse.org/?p=133
"What we're seeing here is not the sudden corruption of two "letters"
in a DNA "sentence," but rather the gradual accumulation of mutations,
eventually gathering together to confer chloroquine resistance upon
the lucky winner."

Budikka

Evolution = Magic Monkeys,Flying pigs,talking rocks,protozoa that build
rockets, breathing mud, invisible labs and invisible observations!

It sounds far more like you're describing Christianity than evolution
there, but how 'bout you and me have a formal debate on the topic
right here in this thread, huh?

If you think your case is so strong and the case for evolution (which
is, BTW, a proven fact) so weak, it ought to be easy for you.

You bring your best positive scientific evidence *for* a creation and
I guarantee you right here and now that I'll refute all of it.

Do you have what it takes to support your claims?

You only really need three things:
1. The science to support your claims
2. The guts to face me in debate
3. A better grasp of grammar than your screen handle suggests you
possess.
(and the third one is optional).

So are you another cowardly creationist posting lies and running, or
are you actually going to show up with the goods? The Internet
community in these world-wide public fora await your answer.

Budikka

Like I said: Evolution = Magic Monkeys,Flying pigs,talking rocks,protozoa
that build
rockets, breathing mud, invisible labs and invisible observations!

Wow,the sheer science of it all!

I see you have nothing to offer, which is why you cannot support your
LIES in debate. But here's another brickbat for Behe over at
www.pandasthumb.org:
http://tinyurl.com/3ba3bc

So the Theory of Evolution keeps grabbing the evidence while the
creationists are grasping at straws! LoL!

Nothing so substantial as straw.

How strange the Behe should attempt to demolish the fact of evolution
by pointing out a specific documented case of it actually occurring.

I thought that he had more brains than that.

The neuron complex shuts down and goes on holiday when he's going to be
drooling copiously.

Contemplating "The Templeton Prize"?

I think he's a shoo-in as his moronic drooling's filled many an Olympic
sized swimming pool.
