From the article:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By BILL KAUFMANN

Whatever you do, don't call it an amusement park.

Some may find flogging a Flintstones version of natural history
inherently amusing, but there's religion involved here, so it demands
our deference.

Don't forget -- grown-ups, actual adults -- are behind the new Big
Valley Creation Science Museum, so elder respect is also warranted.
And what better place than Alberta to host Canada's first museum
devoted to promoting science-free science?

If it means another Alberta stereotype dying harder and a Stockwell
Day ribbon-cutting, so be it.

We're rugged individualists awed by biblical literalism but spared the
bonds of scientific groupthink, no matter how overwhelming the
evidence. Our brains may be an intelligent, divine design, but there's
no way God gave us one capable of that much insight.

Living in a world so young it didn't even have to skip the last ice
age, I'll bet all that oil and gas beneath our feet is fresh enough to
flow directly to the pumps and furnaces. It could be yet another
Alberta advantage, if we just got over our science-based prejudices.

When you can go straight to the Lord for the goods, there's no need
for all that pretentious research methodology, like scrutinizing an
hypothesis, deductive reasoning and peer review.

Those poor scientists, worn down by lacking the faith of their
convictions, tweak their outlook with each new discovery.

It's easier working with the Old Testament -- you never have to change
a thing. It wrote itself. What's more, it can't be disproved because
it's untainted by mere mortal evidence.
