Related to this is Bouchard's longitudinal studies at the U of MN on |
identical twins who were adopted out at birth to different families. As
adults, it was easy with the MMPI personality profiles to identify the
identical twins at the .05 level or better. Fraternal twins are only
about 70%.
Conversely, different children adopted into the same family were no more
like each other than a random sample off the street.
Bouchard also found rigorous religious training washed out by the mid
20's, and identical twins adopted similar cosmologies no matter how
they were raised.
Parental love may be necessary, but it is by no means sufficient. |
