No, he lost his hat and then he lost his head. Talk about "Going

Of course, the idiot's bible thumping parents are suing the amusement
park.
Maybe. The story mentioned that the family of another teen injured in a
separate accident elsewhere ARE suing, but that one involved a serious
equipment defect that caused serious injury.
It didn't say anything about the boy's parents suing anyone. Given the
circumstances they might not be successful if they tried, unless the fence
was in some way defective.

You are right. The article mention 3 different amusement park accident;
it is hard to keep keep them straight. |

It sounds like a grounds keeper was killed under the ride before.
Probably, why there are two fences. Now they will probably have to
put razor wire on at least the second fence.
Attack dogs and foot patrols will probably be demanded by the
park's insurance carrier. Perhaps a moat with alligators, too.
|
Methinks the alligators might be more of a hazard than the ride itself.

Six Flags ought to counter-sue the parents for the emotional trama

There was a similar case here a number of years ago -- A train conductor
sued, for emotional damages, the estate of someone the train hit. All he
got was lawyer bills and more emotional damages. I don't remember the
case very well, but I remember being dissatisfied with the outcome.
|
If the dead guy was a suicide, then I think the estate ought to have
paid up. I nearly committed suicide as a teenager by standing in front
of a train. It was the look of horror on the driver's face that made me
leap aside. I couldn't do it to that guy.

That won't help. I remember reading about an incident in Indiana in the
1980s. This gentleman had a half-wolf/half husky, and was going out of town,
so he had a friend of his, who owned an attack dog training school, board
said half-wolf/half-husky. The friend took one look at the animal and decided
to take no chances. The animal was chained down inside a kennel, in the
secure area, which had a 9-foot fence topped with razor wire and signs
telling all outside to stay out, dangerous dogs inside. The secure area was
itself inside the main area of the school, which was surrounded by a six-foot
fence topped with razor wire and multiple signs warning all outside to stay
out, dangerous dogs inside. (That's _two_ fences with razor wire, lots of
signs...) The neighborhood boys elect to play a baseball game, and the ball
goes over the outer fence, over the inner fence, and rolls into the kennel
with the half-wolf/half-husky. Neighborhood boys climb the fences, and decide
to play with the nice doggie. Nice doggie doesn't feel like playing. Oops.
Parents sue. Win.
